‘Beere Devapoonje’ is the Tulu film in which Pooja Gandhi has to please her husband that is a customary practice. The state award winning film maker for ‘Kote Chennaiah’ R Dhanraj is directing this film. It is a historical cinema says the director. ‘Deva Poonja’ is the valiant personality of Tulu community especially Bunts. In the role of ‘Siddhu’ who has to keep her husband always happy a sort of seducer munching beetle leaves Pooja Gandhi performs in this film.
Siddarth, Leelavathi, Umasri, Manohar Prasad, Naveen D Paeil, Bhojaraj Vamanjur, MK Matha are in the cast. Suresh Babu is the cameraman and Manikanth Khadri son of famous saxophone player Khadri Gopalanath scores the music.
On 22nd of this month on the ‘Beere’ ritual day the film is going on the floor.
