Chic and cool
Sasikumar had proved in the past that movies made on rural milieu with right story will always click. Sasikumar who made films like Subramaniapuram and Nadogial, takes to Madurai and its milieu again with Sundarapandian.
Sasi stops short of producing and acting in the lead while his protege S R Prabhakar directs the same. The movie an engaging entertainer that is typical of Sasikumar.
Lakshmi Menon, Parotta Suri, Appukutty, Vijay Sethupathy among others play lead roles. The movie is about action, friendship, revenge drama.
There are moments in the film that sticks to the heart of the viewers.
Prabhakar has woven all things in a right mix to make it count.
Story
Sundarapandian is set in two villages in Madurai - Kandamanoor and Usilampattti. Sundarapandian (Sasikumar), son of rich landlord in Kandamanoor, leads a happy life and spends all time with his friends.
Sasikumar ensures that he is always of some help to his friends. One day, he goes to ensure that his friend's love is conveyed to a girl Archana (Lakshmi Menon), who happens to be his ex-flame. As it happens, she falls for Sundarapandian again. But trouble begins here. A murder happens and the blame falls on Sundarapandian.
Performance
The highlight of the movie is Sasikumar's screen presence. he is there delivering his best. As a breezy coool romantic youth, he is right there delivering his best.
Lakshmi Menon is apt for the role while Parrota Suri is good.
Music by Raghunanthan is good and so are his background score
Analysis
The drawback is lengthy second half and some cliched scenes. But Prabhakar compensates with his dialogues. The movie is good and thoroughly enjoyable. Three cheers to the whole crew.
