The film opens on a dull note and moves ahead at a leisurely pace which gets stuck at times. The narration is snail paced and bores you to the core at times. Second hero scarifies for love goes overboard and irks you. Only saving grace in this movie is Naveen’s character which is good and lovable. Sadly, he too turns crybaby in the last hour and the film turns out to be an absolute nightmare from then on.

Lack of comedy is another minus as the films gets too heavy in the first hour. There is nothing new in this movie as we have seen similar plot in many movies. Mounaragam and Geetanjali are the movies which also are made on the similar lines. But the result would be even worse.

Naveen is good as a fun loving guy. But his act as a tragic-struck man is not so convincing. His body language and expressions are not up to the mark in those scenes. He excelled in the love making scenes in which he talks with his lover while expressing his love. Lavanya simply excelled in her role. She has lived the character which required her to show various shades of life. Rahul  is Okay. Rest of the star cast did fine.

Techincally the movie is very good. Hanu had a very talented crew at his hands and they have done excellent job behind the screen. Rathan’s music is pretty impressive. Background score is good. Cinematography is another asset to the movie. Art department deserves a pat. Production values are nice.

Hanu Raghavapudi excelled as a director in dealing with the serious love. He should have stuck to a colorful love subject rather falling into the trap of dark side of movie. He failed to bring the right emotions in the first half of the movie. Saying so, Hanu do have few qualities to become a good director, but he needs some fine tuning.

Plus Points:

- Cinematography
- Background score
- Lead actors performance

Minus points:

- Snail paced narrative
- Very old plot line
- Heavy first hour

Finale Word: Andala Rakshasi might seem fine to the A center crowds due to the songs and visual splendor. Even they will feel first half a bit torturous. It is a complete no no to mass audience and masala seekers.
