'God Father Vs Gowri Puthra' on Lakshmi festival day

Here is a mega fight this week. Rs.9 crores film ‘God Father’ is pitted with ‘Gowri Puthra’. In fact the new ‘Puthri’ coming to Kannada cinema from ‘God Father’ – that is Dr Jayamala daughter Soundaraya.

‘God Father’ shot in 74 days has duration of two hours and twenty three minutes in duration – the biggest attraction is super star Upendra in triple role. This is the second time Upendra is in triple role – earlier he played triple role in ‘Hollywood’ Kannada cinema. All three roles for Upendra is filled with variety.

Topnotch music director of this country AR Rahman musical scores are already hit in the market. Ashwini Media Network headed by Prasad – distributor of the film ‘God Father’ is issuing 3 lakh audio CD of this film for first three days at the counters of all theatres in Karnataka. The film is releasing in 115 theatres according to producer K Manju. This is the highest budget cinema of K Manju who is brimming with happiness as he has made profits before release of the film.

The lovely lass making debut is Soundaraya from the family of cinema. Dr Jayamala is a reputed actress of over 75 films and HM Ramachandra is an ace cameraman in the family for Soundaraya. All eyes on this lovely looking Soundaraya!

S Sriram eminent cameraman of some of the top Bollywood cinemas is making debut as director in a language he is not aware. He has cut short the original film ‘Varalaru’ (made in 2006) length in his remake. Cinematography and direction twin responsibilities are handled by S Sriram.

In ‘God Father’ for the first time South Indian top actress Bhumika Chawla makes her presence with Upendra in a song while Catherine is in lead for one the roles of Upendra. Shwetha is another heroine of the film. Avinash, Sudha Belawadi, Rekha Das, Kuri Pratap, Suchitra are also in the cast. Basavaraj Urs editing, Revanna Art direction, Imran Sardaria and Shivakumar choreography are part of ‘God Father’ Kannada cinema.

This is Upendra film hitting after 10 weeks of ‘Katari Veera Sura Sundarangi ’.

The second film of the week – on Varamahalakshmi Day to hit the silver screen in ‘Gowri Puthra’ based on the story of Jagan – this is also said to be a remake like ‘God Father’. ‘Ram Thediya Seethe’ is the strong inspiration for this subject. Manju Maskal Matti is the director and producing this film in his wife name with relatives support.

What happens to a youngster when he goes on telling the truth for his marriage? Whether he finds the right match or not is the crux of this film. Nikitha Tukral is the major attraction of this film with Akshay playing the counterpart. Roopika, Nivedhita, Sowmya Sankalp, Manasi are the other heroines. Rakesh, Ramesh Bhat, Malathi Sardeshpande, Sihikahi Geetha, Pawan are in the supporting cast.

Milind Dharmasena has given lilting tunes. PL Ravi is the cameraman. The audio of this film ‘Gowri Puthra’ sold over 65000 copies in a short span of time.
