'God Father' A.R. Rahman Four Tunes are Good!

The names dropping add to the overall net result of the film? It is a guess work. Now the Ustaad of film music AR Rahman has come with ‘God Father’ his first Kannada cinema officially.

In this Rahamanji scored only two new songs and the remaining five songs are from the original ‘Varalaru’ film made in Tamil. Chinmayi the local singer making good progress catches the attention in the song Neene Yee Kanna…Modhala Honganasu…song with Abhay Jodhpurkar. For Kannada audience the soundings are good and this is worth buying for your cupboard.

There is very well thought out words for this album from lyricist Kalyan, Six songs are penned by K Kalyan and one by Devappa Hassan.

Out of seven four are well done. The best among all are Laali Laali Amma….Alaapane…Neene Yee Kanna Olage….and Nannedhe Shruthiyalli are top class.

1. Alaapane….Mellane...

The first song in the album is with good scorings is in a fast track. Alaapane Mellane Shuruvaithu….Arambadalli namma yavvana….yee dina sadagara Sambrama….The dream of youths is part of the lyrics. The western style mixed to the Olle Thanave Guruthina Cheeti….is a lovely line. The good nature is best and it has to be followed indeed. As usual the instruments take most of the time in this song. The song insists on good nature quite often in the 3 minutes 55 seconds song.

2. Sanchari Manasu...
     Singers – Shwetha Mohan and Nivas
     Music – A.R. Rahman
     Lyrics – K Kalyan

The second song Mama Mama maya kannadi hididhu Manasa Kaddhavva….Sanchari Manasu…..is a fast beat song and high pitch of singers Nivas and Shwetha Mohan very convincing. This is a chiding song. Kenne Mele Kote Katti Kanna Hodeyo Raaja Naanu….is typical for superstar Upendra.

3. Laali Laali Amma...
     Singers – Naresh Iyer
     Music – A.R. Rahman
     Lyrics – K Kalyan

The first best of the album ‘God Father’ is Laali Laali Amma….it adds to a few great songs on mother in Kannada cinema. Laali Lali Amma Tugada Jokali Amma….Khali Khali Amma Malagisidha Suvvalaali Amma…the lyric is the best part. The words of Ninagu Raktha Kanneeru suit Upendra so well because he is the hero of ‘Raktha Kanneeru’ Kannada cinema. This is typical AR Rahman song. The best voice of Naresh Iyer lifts the song.

This Laali Laali song reaches the peak from lyricist Kalyan when the lines Naanu obba Huhchaha, ammana huchchu hididha huchcha ammanedru yare irali avaligintha Hechcha….Mosadha Jagavemba Benkili sudalamma…

4. Sarigamav Sangamve...
     Singers – Shwetha Mohan and Megha
     Music – A.R. Rahman
     Lyrics – K Kalyan

The fourth song Sarigama Sangamve ganave sopana….is well rendered with classical background. Thakadimi thaala manasina aala mounadha vyakarana….are lovely coined. This song is suited for a Bharathanatyam. This sounds similar to ‘Aptha Mithra’ and ‘Aptha Rakshaka’ song.

5. Deepavali...
     Singers – Sonu Kakkar, Apoorva, Shwetha, Abhay Jodhpurkar, Arun Haridas Kamath.
     Lyrics – K Kalyan

The fifth song is peppy. Thothapuri Kadlepuri…from child voice is a Deepavali song. Pratidina Dina Deepavali Nimage Hos Hosatara Drushyavali….This song is also related to eatables. The fast number is an entertaining one. The pitch in the middle of the song is so high. There is reference to Dr Jayamala as her daughter Soundaraya has acted in this film. Junior Jayamala…..is the reference.

6. Nannedhe Shruthiyalli...
     Singers – Vijayaprakash and Chinmayi
     Music – A.R. Rahman
     Lyrics – Devappa Hassan

The Sixth song in the album ‘God Father’ Nannedhe Shruthiyalli sakiye Olavina…..is with traditional instruments beats. Natya loka tareyu neene sapthaswarakke spoorthiyu Neene Nannedhe Shruthiyaloge….Chytradha agamana pritiyu keluthidhe…Singer Vijaayprakash goes at one pitch controlling the breath. He also reaches the peak of his voice in this song. This is a duet song for hero and heroine. The mixing of folk and tappanguchchi…is sure to reach the fans of Upendra. The invitation words like Sarasake Baa Priyane….is a lovable and romantic song on screen.

7. Neene Yee Kanna...
     Singers – Abhay Jodhpurkar and Chinmayi

The seventh song in the album Neene Yee Kanna Modhala Honganasu…Baduku ninge koduve sweekarisu…Oho Geleya oho Geleya… is another melodious song well rendered by Chinmayi in the beginning is worth hearing again. This song is the submission of heroine to hero in words. Nodabeda Heege Nagu Nagutha…. Etake Naanu Huttide anno prashnege Uttara Neenu…what a wonderful lines for the love song.
