Ragalai - Review

Predictable but pleasing

Expectations ran high as Ragalai hits the screens today. It stars Ramcharan Theja, son of mega star Chiranjeevi in the lead. Also with his last Maaveran making it big, all eyes are now on ragalai.Produced by R B Choudhary, it is directed by debutant Samapth Nandi.

It ends up a racy entertainer though there are some cliched sequences and the story is as old as a mole. The movie stars Ramcharan Teja, Tamanna, Ajmal, Mukesh Rishi, Brahmanandam, Kota Srinivasa Rao, R Parthiban and M S Narayana.Read on for Ragalai Tamil Movie Review

Raju (Ramcharan) is a fun-loving youth who does anything for bet. As it he gets a shocker of his life when he is told by doctors that his father (M S Narayana) should undergo a transplant and Rs 20 lakh is needed. He now takes up a chalenge to win the money to get back his father to normalcy. It is an interesting challenge - to make Chaitra (Tamanna), daughter of powerful businessman (Mukesh Rish), to fall in love with him. Does he do so and what happens when she comes to know about the challenge unfolds in the second half.

Ramcharan does come with a splendid show.He is cool and casual and hogs the entire screen presence. He reminds of his father's charisma at many places. Tamanna is there for glamour and songs. She oozes oomph and look col and chic.
Ajmal gets to do a bulk role. He does it with consummate ease. The others including Mukesh Rishi, Brahmanandam, Kota Srinivasa Rao, and M S Narayana does a decent job. Watch out for R parthiban's cameo that is interesting.

Manisharma has scored the music and the songs are foot-tapping. Sameer Reddy hogs limelight with his lens doing all the talking while the Tamil dioalgues does live up to the Telugu theme.

For a debutant to direct a big crew is a difficult task. But Sampath understood the job and delivers it well. Pleasing and a pleasure to watch is Ragalaai.
