A hot-shot chief reporter Ashwini Chengappa (Ayesha) busts one gang after another, breaks one scam after another... while younger sister Kavitha (Ishita Vyas) scoffs at her old-fashioned ‘print media’ background as their doting father (Anant Nag) looks on lovingly. At the end of filing another sensational report, elder sister is summoned home to find house full of police, a distraught dad and a dead younger sister. Bewildered and hurt, Ashwini soon pieces the story behind her sister’s suicide together and begins her hunt for those responsible... This is ‘Bete’ beginning of rounding off the culprits. Transporting girls to Dubai, hospital scandal, resort manager sex scandal, police connections all roll out in the second half.
For whose sake ‘Bete’ is made? Is it for the producer Auditor Srinivas taste or for the cinema taste? It appears the Ayesha the action heroine ability is aimed for box office collection. The profession of the character and how it is depicted there is a wide difference.
As a reporter in Deccan Times how the character of Ayesha counters leaves a strong suspicion whether she is a reporter or police official. The director of this film Srinivas Kaushik has left everything free and no control he has exercised.
Producer Auditor Srinivas like Gaddafi moving with girls and dancing with Alisha is not in good taste. The craze what he has and taste what he has built up is evident from such item dance.
This appears as another criminal waste of the year 2011. Srinivasa Kaushik the thrills he had given in ‘Yaaradhu’ not maintained here in ‘Bete’.
Ayesha strikes in action role once again. She has to improve in her acting. For Akshay and Ishita Vyas there is nothing much. The role of Hari Rai in negative is not good for the society. Adhi Lokesh as usual in cop role and there is nothing remarkable for others.
The songs in the film are not in good quality. The dance number is a feast for the front benchers. The cinematography is just below average.
Last but not the Least – Auditor Srinivas has not audited his script and making!
