The protagonist in ‘Koormavathara’ film is at the edge of retirement from government service happens to play the role of Gandhiji in a television serial. Former President of Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce, hotelier and actor Basanthkumar Patil is producing this film that has completed 15 days shooting in Bengaluru.
Basanthkumar Patil produced ‘Naayi Neralu’ in 2006 in the direction of Dr Girish Kasaravalli and continued his association with stalwart director in ‘Gulabi Talkies’ ‘Kanasembo Kudureyaneri’ and now in ‘Koormavathara’.
Abhinayasharadhe Jayanthi who was once heroine to producer cum actor Basanthkumar Patil is playing the ‘Kastura Bai’ role in this film ‘Koormavathara’. Dr Shikaripura Krishnamurthy is playing lead role. HG Somasekhara Rao, Goa Datthu, Ninasam Chaswa, Rashmi, Vikram Soori, Nanjunda, Apoorva Kasaravalli are in the cast. Issac Thomas scores the music and GS Bhasker another stalwart in cinematography is behind the camera.
