RaOne: Shahrukh Khan Movie: Shahrukh Khan’s highly anticipated movie Ra.One, has finally released to huge openings. Huge hype, expectations surrounded the movie and yes, it lives up to it.
The movie is completely made in Indian (Desi) style, made on par with Hollywood standards. If you are expecting something like Transformers or Inception then, the movie is not for you. Go watch it as a common Indian who usually stays away from Hollywood movies.

Shekhar Subramaniam (Shahrukh Khan) works for gaming company named Barron Industries that makes video games. Their games fail to deliver the desired output and Shekhar is a big looser and lacks mettle in his son Prateek’s (Armaan Verma) view. He often questions his dad’s sensibilities and tells that the he admires villains as he finds heroic games are no good. For that matter, to make his son happy, Shekhar comes up with a new game Ra.One that shows villain stronger and solid than the hero. He installs Artificial Intelligence in the villain so that it makes him to think on his own. Now what’s next? Ra.One comes out of the game and creates ruinous damage. And then Shekhar brings on G.One in the physical world to destroy Ra.One.
I repeat, don’t watch the film if you are already in awe of Hollywood sci-fi films. It’s definitely an outstanding job as per Bollywood standards and hats off to Shahrukh and his team who portrayed the film with some great visual effects which are on par with Hollywood standards. Coming to the story, Indian (Desi) style has been added and yes, it was required to make Ra.One a mass entertainer. On a side note, the first hour of the film is fast paced and dealt well, while the second hour could have been better. The kids will love this film for sure and go crazy on Ra.One.
The King is back. He reinvented himself yet again and it is clearly evident that his dream has now become reality for him. He is fantastic as both Shekhar who lacks the mettle with some stupidity, god-fearing south Indian and even to G.One. Kareena Kapoor looks stunning and makes you fall in love with her all over again. Arjun Rampal is outstanding but it’s the debutant boy Armaan who actually steals the show. The movie belongs to him. Technicalities:
Well, the cameos of Sanjay Dutt and Priyanka Chopra won’t live up to the expectations. The introduction scene of the film is quite stupid and you really pray that the rest of the film is not like this. Direction could have been better in the second hour of the film, while the Editing is brilliant. Music is the soul of the film. The songs ‘Chammak Challo’ and ‘Dildaara’ stands out. Background music was not fresh and quite routine. Some of the visual effects should definitely be commended and watching the film in 3D would be more impactful.
