Speaking high on the strength and ability of Bharani Minerals the noted actor Shivarajakumar spoke to this correspondent on his Hong Kong and Bangkok schedule of ‘Lakshmi’ and further explained his two riveting plans for the future.
Here are the excerpts of an interview with Shivarajakumar.
Q: You are back from an interesting schedule of ‘Lakshmi’. How was the overall experience?
Shiva: The making of this film and preparations of this film of Bharani Minerals made me to think different for my career. When the rain bothered our shooting schedule within a few hours the producer Mr Bhasker was able to shift the location by plane. In the afternoon we are at different location. That was the high class planning and high class nature of the production team.
Q: How many days you stayed and how was the shooting at different locations?
Shiva: We could not go to Macau but all other things were superb in 15 days schedule. I never had this kind of satisfying abroad shooting in my career. Raghav Loki has given his best and even while fighting with 50 plus he gives good justification. In the particular shot where I come with long gown it goes in to pieces, how that gown made in leather is used is absorbing. Ravi Verma has composed the action scene that is in a high range. That was shot in the 25th floor. It was an amazing job from the whole team of ‘Lakshmi’.
Q: It seems the local fighters were used for this action block…
Shiva: That is true. To get in some native touch we have done like that. The precise matching of foreign location is very good in this film. The island, Pattaya, Pukket, Thai dancers etc were very good experience and come out very rich.
Q: Why ‘Mylari’ type of travel was not taken up for ‘Jogaiah’?
Shiva: That was up to the producer to do like that. One thing is sure from ‘Mylari’ a sort of breakthrough has come for the film. The hard work and sincerity should be taken note. Making money should not be the only motto of any film making is my observation.
Q: You are up to some great ideas for Dr Rajakumar Memorial….
Shiva: I and my wife Geetha discussed about the seven screens Mall cum multiplex in the name of my father Dr Rajakumar. The purpose of this is to get right mileage for the achievements of my father Dr Rajakumar, Dr Vishnuvardhana and Shanker Nag – three legends who are not with us.
Q: Where do you want this to come up?
Shiva: I wanted it very near to my father memorial at Kanteeravs studios. In one screen all the 365 days Dr Rajakumar films should be screened and there are 200 plus films. In another screen Dr Vishnuvardhana and Shanker Nag films should be made available at a very affordable rate. This is my wish and I don’t know when it is going to evolve.
Q: What about the family production house?
Shiva: I am starting ‘Sri Muthu’ banner and the first film will go on the floor on next year Dr Rajakumar birthday April 24. Every year one good production from my home banner is my present idea.
Q: Would like to pass your observation on ‘Darshan’ episode?
Shiva: It is not right to talk anything because it is at the court level. One thing I can say generally for everyone is ‘Birth itself is a gift – it should be properly utilized’.
