Chillar Party Music Review

Team:

The small budget film knocked the Bollywood door with almost no expectations attached to it. Citing the fact that it was helmed by bunch of new directors and talents have helmed the film. But as far as music department is concerned it had some really proven talent to add melody to the kids-centric film. The Album of the film is composed by Amit Trivedi who has also penned down a couple of lyrics for the film. Apart from him the literary contribution has also been made by Amit Trivedi, Nitesh Tiwari, Amitabh Bhattacharya and Vikas Bahl.

Music:

Citing the fact that the film is a kid-centric flick the songs in the film have been cleverly composed to suit the plot and sentiments of the x-generation. The first dong in the album –'Aa Rela Hai Apun' is a peppy track that’s only foot tapping but also funfilled. Some crazy lyrics by Nitesh Tiwari, song has been Amit Trivedi and the chorus or shall we say the supporting chords have been given by Armaan Malik, Tanmay Chaudhari, Amitabh Bhattacharya and Arvind Vishwakarma. The ‘Tpori’ number will surely be a favorite amongst kids.

‘Tai Tai Phish’
Singer: Amitabh Bhattacharya, Armaan Malik, Amit Trivedi, Tanmay Chaudhari, Arvind Vishwakarma
Lyrics:    Nitesh Tiwari

‘Tai Tai Phish’ is by far the most popular track of the album, given for the fact that it features Ranbir Kapoor who is at his Tapori best, the song also has an upbeat feels to it. It has lyrics picked from the 'Aa Rela Hai Apun' which is added by the ‘Tai Tai Phish’ that is catching as rage amongst the young and adults alike. It is a certain chartbuster that will be cherished for long.

'Chatte Batte'
Singer: Armaan Malik, Mohit Chauhan, Gaurika Rai, Keshav Rai
Lyrics: Nitesh Tiwari

Next on the album is ‘Chatte Batte’ that is truly an enjoyable melodious song perfectly hummed by Mohit Chauhan, Armaan Malik, Gaurika Rai and Keshav Rai. The album has two versions of this track one is a fun track while other one is the sad version. Both the versions of the song have some soul touching lyrics as the simple words have the mettle to touch your heart, kudos to Nitesh for the smooth work of writing the soulful lyrics.

‘Ziddi Piddi’
Singer: Armaan Malik, Amit Trivedi, Tanmay Chaudhari, Gaurika Rai
Lyrics: Nitesh Tiwari

Next up is ‘Ziddi Piddi’ that exemplifies the sheer determination and the adamant nature of the rebellious kids in the film. Sung by Amit Trivedi, Armaan Malik, Tanmay

Chaudhari & Gaurika Rai, the song is an average track that will hardly survive as an individual track. However it is a perfect track as a situational song in the film.

The next track is like an inspirational one and brings back the magic of Amit Trivedi and Amitabh Bhattacharya combo. 'Ek School Banana Hai' written by Amitabh Bhattacharya, composed by Amit is sung by Gaurika Rai, Kehsav Rai, Firoza. Though the track is smooth on the years, this one too like ‘Ziddi Piddi’ is a situational number that wouldn’t have an individual identity of its own apart from the film.

‘Behla Do’
Singer: Armaan Malik, Firoza
Lyrics: Nitesh Tiwari

‘Behla Do’ sung by Armaan Malik and Firoza yet again is an unusual song in the album that has a ‘rock’ music feel to it, despite of the fact that it a kid-track.

Nitesh has time and again proved his literary skills with some lyrics in this one as well.

The last on the track is 'Liar Liar' the only English number of the album that has been penned by Vikas Bahl is good on ears as well has a feel-good factor attached to it. Gaurika Rai and Keshav Rai too have done a commendable job behind the mike.

Verdict:

The album is filled with variety of songs but much more variety in the set of singers would have worked wonders for it. Though the present set of singers to have given their best but inclusion of different singers for each song would have created a novelty factor to each. All said all done. The album is more or less for those who enjoy old school music as it has more melodious tracks than the current upbeat numbers. It has cheers and tears for everyone.
