Team: The music for the action film is composed by Ajay-Atul and the lyrics are given by Swanand Kirkire. The film being Rohit Shetty and Ajay Devgn’s venture, music was expected to be in sync with the story as like their past films.

‘Singham’

The film just has three song tracks and citing the fact that it was touted to be a masala entertainer film; the figure seems small for a Bollywood commercial film.
‘Singham’ the title track of the film is an energetic one and is true to the film’s spirit. Swanand’s Lyrics are powerfully packed in regional music by Ajay-Atul. The song is appropriate for an action film like ‘Singham’. It’s not exactly a chartbuster material but will gel with the movie, however will not survive as an individual track.

‘Saathiya’
Singers: Ajay, Shreya Ghosal
Lyricist: Swanand Kirkire

‘Saathiya’ is a romantic number between the couple and is soothing to your ears. Unlike the Title track the song will find its takers, as it is especially for those who enjoy calming music amalgamated with the beautiful voice of Shreya Ghoshal and Ajay Gogavale. Shreya’s lines however will stay in your mind for a longer period.

‘Maula Maula’
Singers: Richa Sharma, Kunal Ganjawala
Lyricist: Swanand Kirkire

Yet another romantic number finds its place in ‘Singham’. The song has the voice of really talented singers like Kunal Ganjawala and Richa Sharma. The highlight of the song is the beautiful lyrics by Swanand. The use of various regional as well as modern musical instruments definitely reflects in the song.

Verdict:

The biggest disappointment is the lack of variety and less number of songs in the album that is basically for a music-buff country like India. While ‘Maula’ and ‘Saathiya’ both serve as romantic numbers, the album would have been a favorite if not for the less number of the songs. The album lacks the punch of novelty factor as the tracks though sound good but aren’t exceptional.
