What kind of a film is ‘Yuganiki Okkadu’?
‘Yuganiki Okkadu’ is a scientific fantasy. We’ve seen how thrilled T-town was on ‘Magadheera’ and ‘Arundathi’. And we presume people perceive this film on similar lines.
‘7/G Brindavan colony’ is a heart touching love story and ‘Adavari Matalaku Ardhale Verule’ is a complete family entertainer. But ‘Yuganiki Okkadu’ seems to be different.
Have you changed your genre and style of film making?
I felt tired of making films on Love story, Family, Romance and so contemplated making something unique like ‘Yuganiki Okkadu’.
Any inspiration behind Yuganiki Okkadu’?
Nothing in particular. I made this film, believing in people who welcome novelty and they might just feel that ‘Yuganiki Okkadu’ is a Hollywood lift off, but that’s incorrect. Contemporary film goers are watching films of all languages and they can easily spot if there’s a lift off.
To me, writing new script is easier than lift off (quips)
Can you tell us the storyline backdrop of ‘Yuganiki Okkadu’?
This film has reflections of ‘Cholas culture’ in an unprecedented backdrop.
And what’s the response for the film in Tamil?
People opine that the film is a visual treat, much on the lines of Hollywood. Hero Karthi is receiving accolades for his performance.
Well! I feel I’ve just climbed one more step as director.
Did you customize the film for Telugu audience?
We did not make any major change. However, we reduced the duration keeping in mind people preferences.
Let us know the significance of Visual Effects and Graphics in Yuganiki Okkadu’?
Get clarity on the concept and Visual Effects and Graphics would go as situation demands. And I take pride in saying that all the technicians in this department hail from South India. They’ve done a remarkable job for this film, which has Hollywood similitude. This film has even raised the standards of Indian film.
As a director, to what extent the film lends you mileage?
I sweated two and half years for this film and the response is just a reflection of that hard slog. And this film would surely cement my image in Tollywood cinegoers.
