Rajesh - Stunner on Silver Screen!

In the ‘Zamana’ of ‘Kumar’ trios – Rajakumar, Udayakumar and Kalyankumar – Rajesh stood strong for his terrific performance on silver screen in Kannada cinema. In the charged up roles similar to what counterpart Shivaji Ganeshan was doing the stellar performance of Rajesh was well received. He was not only good in acting but also in singing.

Known as ‘Kala Thapswi’ Rajesh  five feet 10 inches is an ardent fan of literature. Vidyasagar is the original name of Rajesh. He is born to Yellappa and Muniyappa. He took birth on the Sri Ramanavai day in Bangalore. After studies he joined the Public Works Department as Typist and later transferred to Food department.

The literature has been his childhood interest without telling his parents joined theatre troupe and formed his own Shakthi Nataka Mandali. He has staged eleven popular plays.

From ‘Veera Sankalpa’ of Hunsur Krishanmurthy he made debut on Silver Screen. He got a break in ‘Namma Ooru’ in 1968 directed by CV Shivashanker. It is from this film he became Rajesh. He has acted in over 150 films.
