'Bire Devu Poonje Kannada and Tulu Film

The first historical film for ‘Mungaru Male’ heroine Pooja Gandhi a bilingual in Kannada and Tulu language ‘Bire Deve Poonja’ has completed major portion of shooting. This is the film where actress Pooja Gandhi plays the role of a court dancer and she seduces the opponent kingdom ruler through special powers in her.

The positive and negative shade for Pooja Gandhi as ‘Raja Narthaki’ in Kannada and Tulu language ‘Bire Devu Poonje has completed 15 days of shooting in the direction of Dhanraj the national award winning director for ‘Kote Chennaiah’.

‘Bire Dev Poonje’ dates back to the Dalavayi of 400 years for which 8 months of hard work was put in by Prarthana Creations. The film went on the floor on last October 22 and there are five songs for this film scored by Manikanth Khadri.

Producer Dhanraj admits that he is making this film for the award at the national and state level. The subject of this film was in the textbooks of primary school students has some relevance to the present day says Dhanraj. The support of Amrutha Someshwar is sought in this film script. The Dev Poonje is seen in Dakshin Kannada in stage plays, Yakshagana etc. In coming year January both the languages will be released in the theatres says Dhanraj.

Devu Poonje is the Dalavayi who lived for 26 years who gets a super natural power. The period is of the Savantha Kingdom. He is a warrior with lot of courage. When the power he behaves atrociously that finally lead to his departure.

Suresh Babu is the cameraman and it was tough doing the shooting because of period consciousness. Siddarth of 30 plus films plays the title role. Jayalakshmi Archana, Naveen D Padeel, Manohar Prasad, Master Sajan, Dr Mohan Alva, Prakash Padubidri, Ashwini, Kishore Ballal, Santosh Shetty are in the cast.

For this historical film the art work is of great importance. Chandrasekhar Suvarna Malki art director of the film has done a good task in giving the feel of four hundred years. Rajesh Brahmavar choreographer of the film with the assistance of a classical dancer taught the Bharatanatyam style of dance to Pooja Gandhi for this film.

The four centuries old ‘Dalavayi’ Bire Dev Poonja life sketch is made in Kannada and Tulu languages by producer cum director Dhanraj in Prarthana Creations.
